Virginia Guardian Training Live
New in 2025, all appointed public and private guardians in Virginia need to take this training.
Guardians appointed July 1, 2025 or after must complete the training within 120 days of qualification. Guardians appointed before June 30, 2025 have until Jan. 1, 2027, to complete the training. Other interested individuals are welcome to take the training and explore the additional resources available on the training webpage.
“This new online training marks a significant step in supporting guardianship in Virginia,” said Kathy Hayfield, Commissioner of DARS. “By ensuring all guardians and guardianship professionals are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need, we’re helping to protect the rights and well-being of vulnerable adults across the Commonwealth.”
The full module is available in English and Spanish and transcripts are now available in Arabic, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.
