Job Accommodations & Support

DARS helps businesses identify and provide reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities. Our job isn’t done once your employee is hired–we continue to support your staff on the job.

In many cases, an accommodation is a simple inexpensive fix that our department engineers can build and install. Examples include: an ergonomic keyboard, a specialized software application, or a modified work schedule.

Assistive technology refers to tools, devices, software, or equipment that help people with disabilities perform tasks, increase independence, and participate fully in work, school, and daily life.

For New Hires

We will work with businesses to:

  • Create or adjust job descriptions
  • Increase accessibility in the workplace
  • Identify and implement reasonable accommodations

For Your Existing Team

If someone on your team has a disability, due to an illness or non-job-related injury, we can provide solutions and reasonable accommodations to help them return to work. This keeps their valuable expertise on the team and reduces turnover.
