Employment with Virginia DDS
Background Investigation
All potential employees must pass a federal credentialing process, to include an HSPD-12 background investigation, for access to Social Security Agency facilities, systems, information, and/or classified materials. If you are offered a position, employment will be contingent on the outcome of the background investigation. This is a multi-step process requiring timely action from potential employees.
Below are forms that are associated with this process:
- OF306 – Declaration for Federal Employment
- SF85P – Questionnaire for Public Trust Position
- HSPD-12 List of Acceptable Documents
Alternative Hiring Process
We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. We offer an Alternative Hiring Process for those with a documented disability that results in a barrier to employment (as determined by a Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services vocational rehabilitation counselor). The counselor will provide qualifying applicants with an Alternative Hiring Process Letter to submit with their application.
