The State Rehabilitation Council (SRC) is a group of individuals appointed by the Governor to work on behalf of people with disabilities by serving as a source of advice, information, and support for DARS’ vocational rehabilitation (VR) and supported employment programs. The SRC actively seeks out ways to communicate with VR consumers, individuals with disabilities, and those who support them.
Mission
The mission of the State Rehabilitation Council (SRC), in partnership with DARS, and in collaboration with advocacy groups, consumers and their families, is to ensure quality services for Virginians with disabilities to achieve meaningful employment, self-sufficiency and independence.
Vision
That all Virginians with disabilities have access to quality services leading to meaningful employment, self-sufficiency and independence.
Consumer Satisfaction Survey
The SRC works with DARS to assess satisfaction among individuals receiving services from the Division of Rehabilitative Services. In federal fiscal year 2025, feedback was collected from people who had begun their Individualized Plan for Employment but had not yet found a job, offering a real-time snapshot of their experience.
