About Windmills Training

Originally developed by the California Governor’s Committee in 1981 and later updated by Milt Wright & Associates, Windmills is a training tool aimed at breaking down barriers to employment for people with disabilities. Through a series of interactive, trainer-led modules, it helps employers and employees gain new perspectives on disability and workplace inclusion.

Popular Modules Include:

  • Perspectives
Challenges common stereotypes and encourages self-awareness about disability.
  • Profiles
Explores how bias can affect hiring and workplace decisions.
  • Fact or Fiction
Prepares participants to navigate real-life workplace scenarios involving disability.
  • Whose Fault?
Promotes better communication and conflict resolution by clarifying roles in business interactions.
  • Assistive Technology & Reasonable Accommodations
Introduces creative approaches to identifying effective accommodations.
  • Taking Emotions Out of an Emotional Disability
Helps employers address emotional disabilities in a calm, neutral, and solution-focused way.
